Recycling and Product Stewardship

Reduce your carbon footprint and set a good example in your workplace.

Recycling and resource recovery are an important part of any sustainability effort. As part of our sustainable business practices, we offer various programs to help you recycle your used consumables, imaging equipment, parts and non-fibrous packaging.

By working together, we can protect the environment, use resources efficiently and reduce needless waste.

Please note: We have changed the layout of our recycling page- If you are looking for a return label for empty toner bottles and cartridges, please scroll down to the Consumables Take Back Program at the bottom of the page

Equipment Take Back Program

Choose environmentally friendly recycling methods for end-of-life equipment (e-waste).

Dispose of electronic waste (printers, faxes and MFPs) with your local state program or with us

Disposing of e-waste in an environmentally friendly way is the right thing to do, and in some states, it's the law. Select a state below to see if regulations apply where you live and work. If there’s no local recycling program in your state, follow the process on the page below for your product type. Our program operates in accordance with state recycling laws. For products that qualify for California SB20/50 recycling, find a local recycler at CalRecycle.

When you can't use local equipment-recycling resources, please take advantage of these programs to recycle products from Ricoh, Savin and Lanier.

Desktop printers/cameras/projectors and replacement lamps/unified communications systems (UCS)

To recycle these products, start by printing a prepaid shipping label. Our program operates in accordance with state recycling laws.

Floor-standing multifunction printers (MFPs) and whiteboards: Call 1-973-882-5246 during standard business hours and provide your name, address, model number(s) and serial number(s) to receive an RMA number and ship-to address. The RMA information must be on the bill of lading that's addressed to the Ricoh Americas-designated recycling center. You are responsible for the cost to ship the item(s), and you must make the transportation and payment arrangements. If you don't have a preferred trucking firm, you can contact TTR Shipping at 1-888-333-6865 to request the Ricoh Americas rate schedule to return end-of-life equipment. We cannot accept “freight collect” shipments.

Thank you for recycling!

Consumables Take Back Program

Consumables Preparation Method #1

For cartridges that have UPS or FedEx shipping labels inside, remove the label from the box. Place the used cartridge in the box and tape the prepaid shipping label to the outside of the package. Please use the return instructions on the label.

Consumables Preparation Method #2

For multiple cartridges using the original packaging or a large box that you supply:

By returning multiple cartridges at one time, you'll reduce the CO2 impact of shipping individual cartridges. Please remove toner cartridges out of individual boxes and consolidate the cartridges into a larger cardboard box. Tape the prepaid label to the package, and be sure to tape all seams to prevent leakage. Drop the package off at a UPS shipping location or include it with your next pickup or drop-off at your facility. If you call UPS to pick up this specific item, you’re responsible for the pickup cost. The return package’s dimensions should be:

  • No larger than 165 inches (419 cm) in combined length and girth (2x width + 2x height).

  • No longer than 108 inches (270 cm).

  • No more than 25 lbs. in weight.

Consumables Preparation Method #3

For toner cartridges and maintenance kits that do not have a prepaid shipping label inside the box (for small offices with few returns):

Click on the button below to print a prepaid shipping label. Tape the label to the outside of the package, and follow the return instructions on the form. Please note: For the prepaid shipping label link to work properly, you must access it through this Ricoh page only.

When filling out the form to print the prepaid label to return the consumables, you need an EDP code.

EDP codes are product designations used to identify a specific consumable item for Ricoh, Savin and Lanier products. You can find the code on the label of the original carton box; in some instances, it can be found on the cartridge or container itself. If the box is unavailable or the cartridge/container is unmarked, please contact your supplier to obtain this information. Please note: You need only one EDP code per return, even if you are returning multiple cartridges in one box.
