When the images are uploaded to a PC running ESRI GIS software, a plug-in tool-set that comes with the camera automatically converts the image sets to shape-files or geodatabases and displays the images as points on a map. Thumbnails of the images pop-up as a mouse is hovered over them, while clicking on the point opens the image in the default viewer. The information from the data-dictionary is displayed with the image and is also part of the attributes table to provide for searching or report generation.
