BUYERS LABORATORY, INC. HONORS RICOH’S DOCUMENTMALL 9.1 STORAGE SOLUTION WITH FIVE STAR RECOGNITION
West Caldwell, NJ, March 17, 2008 - Ricoh Americas Corporation, a leading provider of digital office equipment, today announced that its online document management and storage solution, DocumentMall™ 9.1, received a “Five Star” overall rating from Buyers Laboratory, Inc. (BLI), the leading global provider of critical test reports on document imaging products. This enhanced version of Ricoh’s Software as a Service (SaaS) solution provides users with a simple interface and more document management flexibility to improve day-to-day business operations.
DocumentMall 9.1 scored extremely well in the usability, value and security categories of BLI’s extensive analysis of the solution. The software employs an updated Web interface that features point-and-click navigation and intuitive, menu-driven functionality to optimize performance and shorten the learning curve for new users. To streamline the process of importing documents into DocumentMall 9.1, users can drag-and-drop documents and folders from their desktops into DocumentMall 9.1. Users can also create subscriptions for commonly accessed folders and documents in the system that can easily be accessed through quick-links in a specified directory. A viewer application enables users to view, print and collaborate on documents from a range of programs, even if that application is not available on their desktop.
As a SaaS solution, DocumentMall 9.1 is an ideal solution for small to mid-sized businesses, as it eliminates the cost to purchase, implement and maintain a server-based document management solution. It helps customers lower distribution costs like shipping and courier services. Customers may subscribe to the service in either one- and three-year durations suiting both short- and long-term storage and document management needs. Subscriptions begin at Suggested Retail Price $800 (SRP) per year, but can be tailored to customers’ unique storage capacity needs to keep costs down. DocumentMall 9.1 also boasts an intuitive set-up and activation process. Users only need a PC and an Internet connection to access DocumentMall and use its various options to independently handle a wide variety of applications.
DocumentMall 9.1 includes extensive privacy options to maintain document security. The solution offers secure and direct scanning from Ricoh’s multifunctional products (MFPs) with barcode indexing for low to moderate scanning, and Upload Agent for high volume document upload with third-party conversion software. In addition, e-mail alerts can be established to allow users to track when documents are altered, and robust audit reporting is available to track all transactions that are performed within the system. Seven levels of user access controls define which users can view documents and folders, and can also prevent files from being edited by unauthorized users.
“BLI’s ‘Five Star’ rating is a prestigious industry recognition, and Ricoh is proud that DocumentMall 9.1 received such high marks,” said Hede Nonaka, executive vice president, Document Services and Solutions Division, Ricoh Americas Corporation. “DocumentMall 9.1 is an indispensable asset to many of our customers who are looking for a secure, user-friendly and cost-effective storage solution.”
