Known Issues / Limitations When Printing in a Terminal Server / MetaFrame Environment
-
When printing a file containing a large number of bitmap images or fonts,
some of the images or fonts formatting may be lost.
-
By default, device options settings (i.e., finisher, large capacity paper tray, etc.)
will not be stored on the server after the client logs off their session. The settings for device
options will be at their default values each time the user logs onto the server. With MetaFrame XP
FR1/SP1, the user can go into the properties of the auto-created printer and manually configure the
driver for features such as optional trays, set the tray configuration, duplex unite, etc. and the
settings will be saved to the users profile when the user profile will restore the printer settings.
-
When printing a large number of bitmap images or when printing in a WAN environment over
dial-up connections (ISDN, Modem, etc.), depending on the data transfer rate / available bandwidth,
printing may be disabled or a printing error may occur.
-
Depending on your environment, when using MetaFrame XP 1.0 or later, we recommend configuring
"Client printer bandwidth available" from within the Citrix Management Console.
