Ricoh Corporation, the Dependable DigitalTM output company, today introduced the RICOH Aficio 1085 high-performance digital imaging system for the print-on-demand market that requires production quality imaging and high performance printing. Designed to handle high-volume workloads, the Aficio 1085 is based off of the highly successful Aficio 850 system. Built on Ricoh's advanced digital technology, the Aficio 1085 with a powerful custom FieryŽ controller from Electronics For Imaging (NASDAQ: EFII) expands the company's diverse range of digital imaging systems, the broadest and most comprehensive of any manufacturer in the industry.

Recognized for its superior high-volume production performance and value, the Aficio 1085 recently received a Better Buys for Business Editor's Choice Award in its annual High-Volume Copier & Multifunctional Guide.

Ricoh's Aficio 1085 features many workflow-enhancing capabilities that focus on document input, management and output. This technology includes an Automatic Reversing Document Feeder with batch feed capabilities and Document Server/Document Editor which allows users to scan documents directly into the system's memory for on-demand, secure, file merge and proof printing. The Aficio 1085 offers optional multiple front end enablers including the Peerless Type 850 Controller, a Fiery EB-105e Controller and the Ricoh MicroPress for high performance printing. The enhanced optional embedded Fiery EB-105e controller delivers top-quality printing at an impressive speed. Working with the Aficio 1085, the controller provides smooth, even black and white printing while offering document building tools including imposition, tab printing, print drivers for a variety of platforms, utilities for remote job management and a local interface for immediate control.
For output, the Aficio 1085 works with the SR810 Finisher offering multiple position stapling and hole punching as well as the optional SR85 Bookletmaker for increased on-line or off-line productivity.
The suggested retail price of the Aficio 1085 System is $39,000.
