ISO 14001 - Environmental Impact Information Systems
Identifying, Measuring and Assessing Environmental Impact
The Ricoh Group considers an important prerequisite to environmental conservation activities to be the measurement of the environmental impact of our business activities based on the Comet Circle. For this purpose, we introduced the Eco Balance system and Life Cycle Assessment (LCA). The Eco Balance system identifies, quantifies and reports the environmental impact caused by each business activity, such as the manufacturing and the procurement of materials and parts. LCA elaborately identifies and analyzes the environmental impact made by each process and each product throughout its life cycle.

In order to respond promptly to inquiries about Ricoh's environtmental conservation activites from our customers, the media and various organizations, we are building a database that can be accessed in real time.
- Environmental Accounting Information System
This is a system designed to clarify costs and identify the environmental activities that represent the most effective use of material, capital and human resources.
- Database of Environmental Improvement Cases
In order to share know-how and achievements within the Group, we are building a database on the improvements that have been made.
- Database of Laws, Regulations and Environment Labels
This database allows Group companies to share requirements and information on the latest revisions of domestic and overseas environmental laws and regulations, as well as environmental label standards.
