Advancing Innovation in Conservation
Ricoh is developing energy conservation activities that will take efficiency and economic benefits into consideration. Our energy conservation technologies will ultimately be expanded worldwide.
Energy Star Building Program
In June 1998, Ricoh Electronics Inc. entered into the U.S. EPA Energy Star Buildings Program. This program is designed to reduce pollution and conserve energy by companies implementing energy efficient upgrade programs to their equipment, systems and operations. This program consists of a five stage upgrade implementation strategy that includes:
Green lights
Building tune-ups
Other load reductions
Fan system upgrades
Heating and cooling system upgrades
Lighting System Upgrade
Ricoh Americas Corporation's NJ facilities have implemented an extensive upgrade to their lighting systems. By utilizing new ballasts and reflective panels attached to the fluorescent lamps, we achieved improved overall illumination efficiency.
Energy-Efficient Facility
Ricoh Americas Corporation's Montville Office is benefiting from the latest energy conservation technologies: lighting, HVAC, and water supply system. This is part of Ricoh's Environmental Management System (EMS).
New Jersey Smart Start Buildings Program
New Jersey's gas and electric utilities have teamed up to offer commercial and industrial sectors an extensive array of services and incentives to improve construction, renovation and equipment upgrade projects. Under this program, Ricoh Americas Corporation became the first company to get approval for its energy conservation upgrade project and receive a rebate check from PSE&G.
